My role in this project, while allowing my to work largely independently, did directly influence another group member being able to produce work. As a 3D modeller I needed to produce high quality assets I was happy with while also providing the exported assets to the group for texturing swiftly, so as not to delay my group member being able to produce content for the final environment.

As a INTJ personality type, and In an effort to maintain a good schedule I found an online resource which would allow me to track my individual progress and tasks through a gantt chart. This allowed me to keep a list of the various rooms I needed to populate and let me check them off the list when they were uploaded to my shared box folder.

I calculate the length of time for the project at 14 weeks, and aim to begin uploading completed models to my box folder by mid-April, thus allowing my group mate to have something to work on while I continued to produce models. In my previous group experience one big mistake I made was finishing all my tasks before passing them along to another group member to finish his tasks. Thus, overloading that member at the end of the project. This is something I aim to avoid.

I plan to use Maya for most of the assets, as they can be produced very quickly. Some assets such as sofas and plants will require the use of ZBrush, though I will aim to keep this to a minimum as it takes a long time to generate UV’s with models exported from the programme.

I also intend to regularly discuss with my group mate in charge of texturing, so that we can solve any issues that arise swiftly.
