Aspiring 3D Artist, First class degree in Games Design from the University of Hull.
Welcome to my portfolio. I’m Fraser, an aspiring 3D artist with three years of experience study within the field, with a passion for visual storytelling.
I have a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of the technical requirements surrounding my art.
Through my years of study, I have developed knowledge of a wide range of software’s. From those vital to the creation of 3D materials to ones designed to help supplement the presentation of these assets. I am always keen to develop my understanding of the technical processes behind creating beautiful 3D art.
For three years I have fostered a keen interest in 3D art, below are some examples of my past projects along with technical breakdowns of each.
Created with the intention to refine my visual storytelling, this environment took a lot of research around the time period to create. I enjoyed researching the character and gathering references to how poor homes would look in 1900 London to create a believable visual.

I wanted to create a historic vehicle with an element of humour to it. The ‘Bob Semple’ tank is a well-known historical vehicle however few high qualities reference images exist; making it a fun and challenging vehicle to create. I enjoyed creating the corrugated armour and exploring using MASH systems within Maya to create the tank treads.

Visual storytelling was at the forefront of this piece. The gun contrasting sharply with the pink teddy bear to create a memorable visual. The blood splatter and dirt covering the trinket speaking to a tragic past. I really enjoyed exploring visual storytelling with this piece and developed my texturing prowess considerably during its creation.

Creating a truly original vehicle from real historical references was a fascinating experience; blending references together into a shape that gave the visual of a real-life car design. I became much more adept at creating complex shapes within Maya with this piece and experimented with things like opacity masks when texturing.

Another recent interest of mine takes the form of material creations. While still new to using Substance Designer I find the art form fascinating and am hungry to further develop this skill. See examples of my work, all of which are tile able with smoothed seems and complete with editable functions when ported into Unreal Engine.
